Documentation of Teo Vázquez's work and project "Los hostiles" between 2024 and 2025 for the Fundació Arrels project. The final piece is a muralism work throughout the old town of the City of Barcelona using the paste-up technique: printing life-size portraits on paper and affixing them to walls, integrating them into the urban landscape with a focus on visibility.
The project is an initiative that turns the streets into a space of memory and denunciation. In places where homeless people once slept, the murals display their portraits on a massive scale, making them graphic witnesses to their own life stories.
Teo Vázquez is an urban artist and photographer, born in Cádiz and based in Barcelona. Trained in photography in London and at the Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya, he has developed his own language that combines portraiture, social awareness, and public space. His technique focuses on paste-up: printing large-format portraits on paper and affixing them to city walls, integrating the urban landscape into the artwork. This transforms streets and squares into stages of recognition, making visible those whom society tends to forget.
