This photographic project, developed in Barcelona since May 2024, is alive and in its final phase.
What is shown here are some representative images. The final objective is the creation of a social action document, with the testimonies of the people who participate, to carry out joint actions for the change of the reality of those who live on the street and the factors that make this situation possible.
Over the months, research and committed photography work has been carried out, establishing bonds and sharing time and circumstances. The people photographed have become active participants in the idea and are currently part of the action team.
"When we look in the mirror we see ourselves in part, but we constantly judge ourselves, and guilt, sometimes, does not allow us to recognize ourselves. We seek our lost essence"
A social stigma surrounds them, generating unfair shames that contribute to further entrench their situation.
The core of this project lies in the difficulty of maintaining oneself when the home ceases to be a safe space, a reality that unfolds upon meeting Irina and Luis, a couple who live in Barcelona where the project unfolds.
"…The photographed can challenge the viewer, or the observer. It is a power".
