Carnival

Carnival

Arrels Fundació works in Barcelona to combat homelessness, accompanying people in a situation of extreme social exclusion on their journey towards a more autonomous and dignified life.

In this context, the 2024 Carnival was celebrated as a moment of celebration at the Arrels center, where users, volunteers and professionals shared costumes, laughter and complicity. It was a festive day within the many activities of the foundation, designed to strengthen the union of the team, integration and the desire to keep fighting.

Arrels Fundació is an entity that has been working since 1987 with a clear objective: that no one sleeps on the street. Over these years, it has accompanied more than 21,700 homeless people on their journey towards autonomy, offering accommodation, food, social and health care, as well as guidance and advice. Its work is possible thanks to a team of 90 professionals, more than 400 volunteers and more than 6,000 members, entities and donors who collaborate to make the campaign #ningudormintalcarrer a reality.

The mission of Arrels is to accompany and assist people who are in the most consolidated phases of exclusion, helping them to regain the maximum possible autonomy. At the same time, it works to raise awareness among citizens about poverty in the nearest environment and denounces unfair situations, providing solutions both to the authorities and to civil society. All this is done from very clear values: voluntariness, personalization, respect, accompaniment, dignity and personal autonomy.
